I'm not very good at making wreaths - they never turn out like the pictures!
I'm also not very good at shelling out money to buy wreaths. Those retail prices KILL me!
I could have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to wreath tutorials - in fact, I might just do that.
Until then, you can find this Twine Wreath pinned in my Stuff For The Home board.
Brunch At Saks did a simple tutorial with great pictures for this diy wreath - go check it out!!
My take on the twine wreath:
I decided to just keep it super simple in design. I wanted to make sure I had neutral colors for my first try - that way I can hang it in various places in the house before I choose it's final home!
What I used:
Pool Noodle (yup - $1 at Dollar Tree!!!)
Twine - I used two 100 yd skeins at $5 each (Walmart)
Tissue Paper for flowers
Grosgrain ribbon
Duct tape
Hot glue gun and glue
Floral wire
How I did it:
1 - I put the pool noodle end to end and duct taped it.
2 - Secure end of twine with hot glue and wrap twine around and around and around.
Don't try to do this in one sitting - you'll go nuts. Also, don't use the thin twine like I did. I used what I had on hand, which worked fine. Next time I'll use thicker twine, though so I don't spend so much time wrapping!
3 - Secure end of twine
4 - Make tissue paper pom pom flowers (tutorial here, also from Brunch at Saks)
5 - Glue flowers onto wreath
6 - Hang from ribbon
*I promise my next wreath will include color! I'm thinking about doing a Halloween or fall themed wreath soon.*
