Pinterest Project - Day 5 {Recycled T-shirt Super Hero Cape}

Day 5 of my Pinterest Project - and my kids are super happy!
They love seeing what I'm going to make each day.
Today, I decided to surprise them - with Super Hero Capes!!

The original post and the great tutorial are at The Southern Institute.
And you can find it pinned in my Stuff for the Kids board.

I wanted to do these capes for several reasons:
1 - It helps me clear out my hubby's t-shirts that he doesn't wear
2 - All boys need a cape!
3 - It's a VERY quick and easy project - I pretty much just cut the t-shirt.
4 - You can customize it any way you want - get fancy with a super hero emblem on the back, trim the cape with bias tape, or make the cuffs that she also gives a tutorial for!

Here are some pics of Con-Man and Monkey Man in action:
They swore the capes helped them run faster!

Taking a break to look for bad guys:

They look great! The boys look like they're having a blast. I hope they use them as much as my boys use theirs! Thanks so much for letting my know about your post. You can add the photos to the Flickr group too!
